Bits and Peices of Everything!

Because we have to use high res pictures, I have decided to use girls from Americas Next Top Model, Australia's Next Top Model and New Zealands Next Top Model (they are of pretty girls that are really clear and easy to work with). The photos that I found on the Internet are really big so it will turn out good when I need to do distinct things to the people. All of these photos are of head shots straight on which will be easier for me to work with. I have four pictures, but am leaning towards on in particular who's face is expressionless which will be easier to create an expression on her face, and also easier to play around with and design. The only problem with this picture is that the hair is on the shoulders, but you can still see some skin which is really hard to get all of the skin coloured bits (I tried it in today's lesson).

Other stuff that has happened:
- I missed out on the lesson where Mr P explained how to do the expressions, but I asked one of my friends and they told me to practically just mask the expression off a photo then put it onto the photo you are using
- We got our assignment today
- I've got 4 photos, and am still looking for some better ones if I can
- I'm planning to start my Avatars at the start of the next lesson
- I am currently brainstorming ideas of what my race should look like. But I definitely big eyes.
- We learnt about 'liquefying' today. It was sooo cool! I think that this tool is useful. I think I will use this in my Avatar to stretch something.

Here are the photos that I am hoping to use

Tahnee Atkinson - Australia's Next Top Model Winner, 2009 (http://sarahcr.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/9059_tahnee.jpg)

This is the picture that I will most likely do. As I said before, she is expressionless, and looks like she would be easy to work with. There is the shading of the light of the photograph which will turn out good when I photoshop it.

Ruby Higgins, New Zealands Next Top Model Contestant, 2009 (http://www.aaronkphotography.com/gosee/rubyhiggins01.jpg)

I really really like this photo. I think it is really pretty. Ruby dosent have that much expression. On second thoughts, this pictures is actually really good because you can see that her eyes are concentrating on something, so if I want my avatars to look stern, but not too stern with a happy face and a little bit of a cheeky grin kinda attitude, I should definetly choose this picture.

Clare Vernena, Australia's Next Top Model Contestant, 2009 (http://i41.tinypic.com/9vcu83.jpg)

If I choose the photo, it would be really fun and easy to work with. The hair is really neat and isint out of place. It would be easy to select all the colours of the picture. The curls could mean that my race has curly hair which are kinky but not really really curly.

Christobelle Grierson-Ryrie, New Zealands Next Top Model Winner, 2009 (http://i316.photobucket.com/albums/mm341/mr-d2008/Ausntm/nzntm/sbizhub09061611420.jpg)

This picture is the largest out of all of them, which would be the best, except that you can kinda see these little white dots everywhere. If I photoshopped it, you wouldnt notice (I think). Also, this picture is not fully straight on, and you can see her head tilting and only see one ear. There are alot of black spots from the lighting that wouldnt be fun to work with. The colour wouldnt come out as good as i wanted it to if I worked with this, but it is still an option to consider.

Allison Harvard, America's Next Top Model Runner Up, 2009 (http://i42.tinypic.com/160ai5d.jpg)

This picture is the smallest out of all of them. If i were to choose this picture, becasue the hair is really messy and everywhere, it would be really hard to select ALL the hair. When it was different coloured, it would also look weird with that peice of hair over her neck.

After looking at these photos, I am thought of some new things:
- They all have really big eyes (but they would get bigger if they are turned into avatars. I am thinking of using 'Buggzies' eyes of 'Bedtime stories' I think those eyes would be really cute and would be huge even if they were on a cow!
- I think that it is almost definete that i am using a small mouth. I will have to look around for one to use. Preferebly lips clossed lightly, but if they are not closed fully and have a little gap, then that is alright. I definelty DO NOT want any smiles with teeth on my avatars.
- I am still not sure of my skin. Before I decided on the colour, I want to write the description of what the attitude and expression that the person has means. This way I can arrange and change the colours accoring to my description.
- I am thinking that they should have differnt colour hair, but then at the same time it would be cool to have different colours. I will have to remember to change the colour of the eyebrows when I change the hair colour.
- I think I might also have something on the face. Maybe a design on half of the face? between the nose and one side of the eye? the cheek? something on the neck? Im not sure yet, I'll have to think about it!
